Planning and Your Business
WELCOME!
Congratulations on starting a business!
In Lincoln City, we pride ourselves on the ingenuity and resilience of our local businesses. We also know that it can be a very challenging process, and we want to do our best to help you navigate it. And we always appreciate when you come to us first.
PLEASE!!! |
YOU ARE ADVISED TO NOT SIGN A LEASE OR PURCHASE A PROPERTY UNTIL YOU HAVE ANSWERS TO THESE 2 IMPORTANT QUESTIONS: |
-
ZONING: Does the zoning for the site allow for the type of business you are contemplating?
-
BUILDING/FIRE CODES: Does the building meet the requirements of both the Fire Marshal and the Building Official for the type of business you are contemplating.
HOW TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS -
Once you have a potential business location, provide the address (include a Room or Suite number if applicable) to the following:
| ZONING |
You have two options to determine the zoning for the property. You can phone or email the Planning Department staff (see right task bar), or you can refer to the City’s zoning map using the link below |
|
| BUILDING | Phone or email the Building Official with a description of your proposed business. They will be able to tell you whether or not you will need a Change of Use or Change of Occupancy at that location. They may need to conduct research first. You may also be advised to talk to the Fire Marshal at North Lincoln Fire & Rescue District. |
