The City Attorney represents the City of Lincoln City in Court and Administrative forums and provides legal advice to City elected officials, City Advisory Boards and Commissions and city staff. The City Attorney also serves as the prosecutor for misdemeanor offenses occurring within the city limits.

ORS 153.992 Penalty for Failure to Appear

1. A person commits the offense of failure to appear in a violation proceeding if the person has been served with a violation citation issued under this chapter and the person knowingly fails to do any of the following:
   1. Make a first appearance in the manner required by ORS 153.061 (Appearance by defendant) within the time allowed.
   2. Make appearance at the time set for trial in the violation proceeding.
   3. Appear at any other time required by the court or by law.
2. Failure to appear on a violation citation is a Class A misdemeanor. [1999 c.1051 S29]
