Bottle Drop, Oregon Redemption Center for recycling bottles and cans, is offering a way to support Food Share of Lincoln County (FSLC) through the Blue Bags program.

The Blue Bags program allows individuals to donate their cans and bottles with the refund money going directly to Food Share of Lincoln County. Individuals will need to contact FSLC to obtain the blue bags with the identifying bag tags. Fill the bags up with plastic, aluminum and glass bottles and cans. They can all go in the same bag. Once the bags are full return them to the local drop site at Safeway, 4101 NW Logan Rd., or they can take them to the Bottle Drop Redemption Center in Newport, 158 East Olive St.

Plus, during the month of November, donate to the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative’s (OBRC) Emergency Fund, through Bottle Drop to support FSLC and 11 other non-profit organizations that provide food assistance to Oregonians. All donations made via Bottle Drop, up to $35,000 total, will be matched by OBRC. Go to the Bottle Drop website for more information on donating to the Emergency Fund.
