Chief David Broderick Appointed City Manager Pro Tem

At the Monday, July 21, 2025 City Council Special Meeting, Lincoln City’s City Council appointed Chief of Police David Broderick as city manager pro tem, with City Attorney David Robinson appointed as city manager pro tem second-in-command in the case that Chief Broderick is not available.

By adopting Resolution 2025-16, during the July 21 Special Meeting, the city council appointed Chief David Broderick the city manager pro tem for a time period not to exceed six months, or upon the appointment of an alternative city manager pro tem or a full-time city manager. The resolution also confirmed the Emergency Declaration that Police Chief Broderick declared after the city council terminated the previous city manager pro tem at the July 14 city council meeting. With the appointment of Police Chief Broderick as city manager pro tem on July 21, the emergency declaration was rescinded. The City Council also directed staff to advertise and begin the recruitment process for a city manager pro tem or a permanent, full-time city manager.

Chief of Police/City Manager Pro Tem David Broderick stated, “It will be a team effort between the Department Heads, the city staff and myself to keep Lincoln City moving in the right direction while the recruitment for a new city manager is being conducted.”
